I reach back…soon after my last post I had visitors. Trini visitors – u know how things get. Parents in town for a month, Christmas, throw in some vacation and it’s just going, going, gone! I just don’t know where time flying to – it’s crazy. Just the other day they were talking bout the madness that would follow when computers had to switch from 1999 to 2000 and here we are in 2020 😳. I swear too, that the older I get, the faster time goes and I just had another birthday in early January and it is just about done. Anyhoo, this is not going to be a long post- just a quick update and next week, we’ll go back to our regularly scheduled programme.
last time we “saw” each other, I gave you the story of my Flexible Spending Account credit card and not being able to roll over anymore than $500 into this year’s account. I’m not sure what Shepherd Center did with their billing in 2019 but I completely overestimated what I’d have to pay and won’t u know it I actually ended up having to spend $800 willynilly. Luckily there’s a website, fsastore.com, where one can use the card (no questions asked) to get medical supplies, necessities, stuff, whateveryouneed etc so…that’s what I did. I ended the year with $508 in the account so I lost 8 but I’ll take that over $808 any day so I’m not losing sleep over that. Wouldn’t you know it tho, after all the strategic spending, I got a $200 bill from shepherd in January. JANUARY! I couldn’t believe it. You see, the card rules dictate that it cannot be swiped in any year for the previous year’s services. I would have had to pay the bill, file a claim and they would reimburse me (from the $500 that rolled over). I know at this point u think that I’m lying bout the fact that this is MY money in this account. Rules, regulations, restrictions about what I can and cannot do with MY hard earned money. Steups! Ridiculousness if u ask me – but that’s Uncle Sam for u. The MS gods were smiling at me tho, cuz when I called to pay it, the chick did some digging around and discovered that I still had a credit on my Shepherd account so she told me to disregard the bill (I wrote down her name and the date we talked). Hopefully I won’t have all that drama at the end of this year…I mean there’s only so much medical supplies u need right?
anyhoo, I gone so…have a good weekend; I finally get to celebrate my birthday so I will. Welcome to 2020 – let’s make it a great year!
